- We have a network of SCO Unix systems that need a reliable method of
- synchronizing their clocks with a designated 'clockmaster' (the
- 'clockmeister' :-). The level of accuracy only needs to be within a few
- seconds of each other. I am wondering if there is a SCO equivalent to
- the SunOS 'rdate' command. Does anyone know if such a thing exists, or do they
- have another solution we could use?
-
- A second problem needs to be solved: these systems typically stay up for
- many weeks, and the clockmaster's PC clock may drift with reality. Are there
- hardware solutions to this (a replacement card or motherboard crystal with a
- truly accurate clock)? Is there an executable SCO Unix program that mimics the
- DOS solutions I've seen for dialing up an external "national standards" source
- to synchronize the system clock (Denver or Washington, as I recall)?
-
- Please reply by email.
-
- Thanks.
