- Who says a CD-ROM drive has to cost $700? I'm flipping through a
- bunch of rags here, and I'm seeing prices like: $188, $219, $199
- (some of these include a bunch of disks, too). Yeah, these are not
- the fast ones... access times 600ms and worse; and they're not SCSI
- interfaces, but that's not important when you're only using it to
- load software (rather than accessing Multi-Media databases). Face
- it, CD-ROM is the distribution medium of the future, and the future
- is now.
