- I have Dell Unix issue 2.2 running on a 486/DX50. Works great except for
- 1 small problem: It doesn't seem to like my Syquest 88 Meg cartridge drive.
- The drive actually seems to work fine...it's just that Unix occasionally
- emits a SCSI error message on the console (I have an Adaptec 1542B
- controller). Here is the message (paraphrased):
-
- SD01: I/O error HA0 TC5 Unit 1 Err 0x6DD0E001
- Sense Key 0x5, Ext Sense 0x49, Opcode 0x25
-
- When I first boot up, I get scads of the above message on the console but
- it doesn't seem to hurt anything and the system does come up. I haven't
- actually timed it, but the message seems to come out every 2 minutes or
- so after boot.
-
- Other than the clutter on the console, everything seems to work fine. I can
- format a cartridge with a Unix partition, run mkfs on it, mount it and
- use it with no problems. Anyone have any idea about what's going on?
