- First of all let me preface my answerswith the fact we are a UnixWare Beta
- Site, and I am willing to answer any and all questions I can as to UnixWare,
-
- I AM NOT AN EMPLOYEE of UniVell, NOVELL or USL. Just a very IMPRESSED
- end-user.

- : i) Does SVR4.2 support > 16M on ISA machines?
- :
- I have not had an ocassion to test this, but I do see referances to
- the fact in the docs.
-
- : ii) Can I set up a DOS 5.0 partition on my disk. Univel packages their
- : DOS emulator (Windows 3.1 is extra (a lot more)), but is is still
- : unclear to me if I can have an independent DOS installed on my disk.
- :
-
- Yes, or one can use the DRDOS 6.0 that comes with UniVel
-
- : iii) Both of products have a separate package for Motif development,
- : but is not clear if the regular X11.5 stuff (libs and includes for
- : Xt, Xaw etc) is included with the standard development package.
-
- X11 is included in it's full glory.
- :
- : iv) The list of supported tape drives does not include the newer
- : high capacity QIC drives. Is that possible? As expected, there is no
- : direct support for the low end (Colorado and others) drives.
- : with the standard development package.
-
- At this time a few tape drives are supported, I have heard from
- Colorado that driver is forth-coming.
- :
- : One funny thing about getting information from UNIVEL. The only way to
- : get it is through a fax call-back system. No ftp, no e-mail, not even
- : a bulletin board. Kind of odd for a market leader in the networking
- : field.
- :
- Well, I am trying to get them to provide patches, etc for
- dial uucp from my site. That ison an offical basis, I will provide patches,
- sources, etc for everything we use on UniVel, at least as long as it is P.D.
-
- I have in the following week gotten c-news, tin, elm, and pop2 to
- compile and install on my test bed.
-
- If I can Help let me know.
