- I have been using a DJ20 for about two weeks under ESIX 4.0.3a. I had
- to get the drivers (& jtape backup software) separately. The jtape
- program is useless for me as I am using ufs filesystems and jtape doesn't
- handle filenames >14 chars or symbolic links.
-
- If you examine jtape using strings(1) it is clearly a quick and dirty hack
- from MS-DOS.
-
- The raw tape driver (/dev/rjt0) seems to work fine as far as it goes, but
- I have not been able to figure out how to append to a tape (if anyone
- knows how to do this I should be very interested in hearing from you).
-
- There is another device in my /dev directory, namely /dev/rjt1. I think
- that this is used to control the tape drive rather than being anything
- to do with having two drives. Unfortunately, Colorado does not provide
- very much in the way of documentation.
