- We're running Racal Interlan TCP/IP (NP622A V3.0) on Intel Unix System V.3.2.2
- and Novell Lan Workplace (V 4.0 Rel A) on Dos 5.0. When FTPing from the DOS
- system to the UNIX box, the transfer sees to bog down (either ftpd is ignoring
- ACK PSH or DOS ftp is ignoring the response), and eventually after a couple
- of slow file transfers you get one that takes forever. Finally ftpd core
- dumps after completing the transaction (ftp reports success) but before
- completing the write to the output file.
-
- With the older version of NP622A (V2.1) OR the previous version of Lan
- Workplace (V 3.5 Rel B) there are no problems. With the newer versions we
- get these problems in varying levels of severity on two separate UNIX
- boxes and two separate DOS boxes. In addition, the problems have only
- recently become noticable (previously, there was some slowdown but no
- crashes or incomplete files) though there have been no changes to the
- systems that we are aware of, and the problems persist in an isolated
- LAN segment.
-
- Going back to the earlier version of Lan Workplace is being evaluated,
- but we can't get that version for the rest of the PCs. It's not practical
- at this time to take the UNIX box down and regress it.
-
- Any suggestions?
