- I beleive the reason for this is the pager set for your mail reader. The
- animated messages you are talking about (I beleive) are vt100 escape codes
- which when 'cat'ed do 'run' the animation. Actually every year I send a
- merry christmas animation to all those at UofT Computer Services here. (Its
- my yearly Christmas Card :) ) But if the have their PAGER var set (like less)
- then there is a chance that the pager will not interpret the vt100 sequences.
- For example, I have less set as my PAGER var, and I can not read animated
- mail. What I do is give them instructions at the top of the message on how
- to view the mail. (you know: Save the mail to a file. Chop off evrything
- until CUT HERE, then cat the file)
