  23.     Firstly, I am a CS major at UVa also (3rd yr) and I, unlike poor 
  24. Rob, am NOT clueless...  please don't think that UVa CS is so
  25. backward that we don't know Unix & C like the back of our hand.

  30. Now, to help you out a bit:

  32.     1) Get a unix account... you're posting from a bloody PC.
  33. You need access to what you want to learn about.  You'll learn
  34. C soon enough, so I won't rush you on that.
  35.  
  36.     2) Sit for hundreds of hours in front of it, reading manpage
  37. after manpage and FAQ after FAQ, finally figuring out how to put
  38. together the naughty pictures in alt.binaries.pictures, ftp games from
  39. the various ftp sites, post and mail anonymously, and get your .twmrc 
  40. or .mwmrc file set up JUST RIGHT!  (The important things :)

  42.     Finally, 3) Ask LOCALLY for help... comp.unix.questions
  43. is definitely NOT the place to put such a post.  Try:
