- While reading up on how to implement an internationalized application,
- I came across references to Extended Unix Code (EUC) character encoding
- (mentioned in the Sun Internationalized XView Programming Manual).
-
- They discuss EUC file code (multibyte) and EUC process code (wide
- character). EUC file code uses one or more bytes to represent a single
- character.
-
- EUC file code sounds analogous to what I have heard referred to as Double
- Byte Character Set (DBCS). Is EUC just another name for the same thing?
-
- On the same subject, does anyone have any good sources of information
- on multibyte character encoding, specifically from a programming point
- of view?
