  10.        I am curious as to what anybody thinks of the Cray EL.  I am
  11. looking over some stuff, but I was wondering what other people think of
  12. it -- especially people who have worked with it.  I have worked with
  13. the Cray YMP as a user, but I wonder how much translates down to
  14. the Cray EL.  How does it run vector, scaler, IO, etc?

  16.       It is binary compatible with the Cray YMP, but from what I
  17. understand, it has extensions to make it go faster (like 4 instructions
  18. per clock rather then two in some cases).  Is it running the exact same
  19. UNICOS from the Cray YMP (at the bit level).  If not, does it get
  20. overlooked by Cray?

  22.       I havn't heard too much about the Cray-3 -- is it out yet?  I
  23. heard that they were still having problems, but I don't talk to too many
  24. people who work in this area.  It sounds like a nice computer...
