  14.   Not to interrupt cross-cultural flaming or anything, but it is worth
  15. mentioning that the Plan 9 folks at AT&T have come up with a scheme
  16. for handling ISO-10646 in a way that reportedly works relatively well
  17. with a UNIX-like file system.  Such capabilities would be a useful
  18. addition to 4 BSD and would go a long way towards addressing I18N
  19. issues.

  21.   The other piece that is off the shelf and important is the "locale"
  22. work in ANSI C and in the IEEE POSIX standards.
