  13. Some time ago, there was a discussion on the usage of ide
  14. disks in native and translated modes. I wondered if someone
  15. can post a summary of this. In particalur I want to know the
  16. follwoing:
  17. I ran the programm posted then that reports the geometry of
  18. thje ide disk. This is done twice, one in normal operation and
  19. once after resetting the controller. 
  20. This program reported the same geometries in both modes. Does
  21. this mean that I can only use them in translated modes?
  22. FYI: the disk are a quantum lpt120 and a seagate st3144a.
