- There are patched bootables on rachel for Compaq boxes; this is what you
- probably need. Internally (and I believe posted here) was a recent fix
- that removed a register-clobbering NOP in the wdboot. Initial returns
- have pegged this as the Compaq problem; however, without a working
- kernel, one can't rebuild wdboot and replace it on a boot disk.

- I believe the some-time Gateway problem is the all-the-time Compaq
- problem; thus the rachel Compaq bootables should be usable on Gateway
- to get around the problem until the real fix can be applied and new
- bootables created locally.
