  21. Following the successful Workshops on Distributed Algorithms
  22. in Ottawa (1985), Amsterdam (1987), Nice (1989), Bari (1990),
  23. Delphi (1991) and Haifa (1992), the Seventh Int. Workshop on 
  24. Distributed Algorithms will be held in Switzerland in 1993.
  25.  
  26.    The workshop covers the entire area of distributed algorithms. 
  27. It provides a forum for the presentation of new research results
  28. and the identification of future research directions in this area.
  29. The workshop will be held in Zinal (Valais), a village located in
  30. the Swiss Alps (alt. 1600 m / 5300 ft) at approximately 180 km
  31. from Geneva Airport (easily reached by train+bus).

  33.    Papers are solicited describing original results in all areas
  34. of distributed algorithms and their applications, including, but
  35. not restricted to:
  36.  
  37.   - Distributed algorithms for control and communication
  38.   - Fault-tolerant distributed algorithms
  39.   - Network protocols
  40.   - Algorithms for managing replicated data
  41.   - Protocols for real-time distributed systems
  42.   - Issues in asynchrony, synchrony and real-time
  43.   - Mechanisms for security in distributed systems
  44.   - Techniques for the design and analysis of distributed systems
  45.   - Distributed database techniques
  46.   - Distributed combinatorial and optimization algorithms
  47.   - Distributed graph algorithms
  48.  
  49.    Intended contributors are invited to submit 13 copies of an
  50. extended abstract or full paper to either of the Program Committee
  51. co-chairmen. Submissions must not exceed 15 pages with roughly 35
  52. lines/page. Submissions not conforming with these guidelines may
  53. not be considered. Please include a 150 word abstract, 5 keywords,
  54. and address, e-mail address, fax/telephone number of the contact 
  55. author.

  57.    Proceedings will be published in the series Lectures Notes in 
  58. Computer Science of Springer-Verlag. There is a limit of 15 pages 
  59. for a paper in the proceedings.
