- In support of a suggestion by a recent poster, bm2font is very handy.
- It converts GIF, PCX, TIFF, LBM/IFF, CUT, BMP, IMG and raw bitmaps
- to (TFM, PK) font characters.
-
- pbm and pbmplus I have not used, but they are said to convert a very
- large collection of bitmap formats to and from Portable BitMap.
-
- Also, the emTeX drivers can preview and print TeX files with embedded
- MSP graphics.
-
- I think that the topic of graphics conversions for use with TeX merits
- an overview of its own. I've been thinking since at least March this
- year, but my knowledge of names is limited to these programs:
-
- bm2font
- ega2mf
- fig2mf (under development)
- fplot (commercial; hpgl to pcl)
- ghostscript (postscript to PCL, GIF, PCX, ...)
- hp2mf (hpgl/ibm-gl to mf)
- hp2xx (hpgl/ibm-gl to pcl, ps, ...)
- metafont (well ...)
- metapost (under AT&T non-disclosure licence)
- mf2ps
- pbm
- pbmplus
- pcltomsp (pcl to msp, pcx; part of emtex for the ibm pc)
- ps2mf
- ps2pk
- transfig (fig to ps, ibm-gl/hpgl, tpic, textyl, pictex, latex)
- vga2mf
-
- Names and descriptions of others would be most welcome.
-
- (I suppose TeX-font to TeX-font converters, such as:
-
- chtopx
- gftopk
- gftopxl
- pktogf
- pktopx
- pxtopk
- pxtoch
-
- might be useful links in some conversion chains.)
-
- All the Best!
