- I am having trouble getting LaTeX to number the pages
- the way that I want using the 'book' document style. In
- most books the very first page with printing on it is page
- (i). From that point on, page numbers continue (ii), (iii),
- (iv), etc... until the first page of the first chapter,
- which is page (1).
-
- In my document, the title page should be page (i), the table
- of contents should be pages (ii) and (iii), the Preface
- should be (iv), etc...
-
- The problem is that when I use the \maketitle command, the
- next page is automatically reset to (i), which is the table
- of contents. How do people usually get around this problem?
- Is there a way to suppress the page renumbering by the
- \maketitle command?
-
- Please respond via E-mail. Thanks for your help.
