  15.             ANNOUNCEMENT:    GreekTeX ver 3.1

  18.     After some review work and bug fixes I have realeased the new version 
  19.     of the greekTeX package based on the kd greek family of fonts. Here
  20.     is an extract from the readme file:
  21.  
  22.             GreekTeX is a complete package for typesetting greek
  23.             (modern or ancient) texts within the framework of 
  24.                plain TeX or LaTeX. It supplies a set of fonts based
  25.             on the excellent ones originally developed by
  26.             Sylvio Levi in the States and the modifications made
  27.             thereafter by Haralambous in France. 
  28.             The approach adopted is different from both the
  29.             previous ones since it uses full 256 character fonts 
  30.             and ligatures as the principal method of accenting
  31.             or "breathing" letters. This makes the macros more
  32.             robust and easier to use within TeX and LaTeX 
  33.             environments.

  36.     The new package has been placed on our local archive in the directory

  41.     Differences from the Previous release
  42.         * Fixed font bugs in ligatures and added some more characters
  43.           according to suggestions by J"org Knappen  (J"org, thanks for 
  44.           your comments and fixes)
  45.         * Integrated Unix and Dos Release
  46.     * Unix and Dos (emtex) filters for translating greek ISO standard
  47.       character files to tex input files (for modern greek)
  48.  
  49.     Thanks to all the people that helped in the way and who contributed
  50.     with their bug reports and suggested fixes.
