- Hello netters, I have always been just a Framemaker user but
- recently I was forced to do some administrative work on this
- software.
-
- The cluster of a few machines here shares ONE license to run
- imaker (international version). I looked at the frameusers
- file and indeed we are granted only that. However, the other
- products like maker, write and viewer were not executable
- even when I changed the MAXusers for IMAKER to 0 and change
- of the other three products to 1. I was also unable to run
- fmbatch (which is required by fmmerge). So the question is:
- What is the licensing policy like? Can a user site move its
- license from one product to the other? (I have all the binaries)
-
- I have no idea where this copy of Framemaker came from. According
- to some 'older' folks here, it came 'bundled' with our sparcs.
- Is there a way for us to update or upgrade our license directly
- from FrameTechnology?
-
- Please advice. Thanks.
