- I ordered a ZWL-300-10 from the zenith bbs an item # 36 from the 12/07/92
- list. It read SupersPort SX 120Mb 1mb ram $690.00. I was hopefull and
- exited until the evening it arrived (today-friday). I sort of figured out
- how to hook up the battery although it won't stay locked. I turned it on
- and the battery is dead. OK I'll charge it. Where are the instructions?.
- ...later. Where are the instructions? No instructions. The only books
- are Dos 3.?, 5.0, and windows 3.0. I find the adaptor and plug it in to
- the computer. I turn it on....it boots. Dir shows Command.com with
- 42.xxxx meg remaining. 42 meg where is the 120 meg drive? Dir d: invalid.
- No Windows no dos files no nothin. Not even a zeroxed paper on how to
- charge the battery. This wasn't a one of a kind unit. There were 37 in
- stock when I ordered mine. No returns unless dead on arrival. Should I
- shoot it? Is this fraud? I wonder if anyone else shares my joy and
- excitment?
- Maybe I just can't change with the times. I remember when Heath/
- Zenith stood for something. I have an H-89, Z-89, H-151, Z-161, H386/25,
- and now an unreturnable portable. Is it time for Gateway, Dell, or even
- a ValuePoint (now that IBM seems to have woken up)?
- I spent half a day on the phone with Zenith trying to get a manufact
- p/n for 4 megabyte sims for my 386. Zenith wants $455.00 when they are
- adv elswhere for $133.00.
-
- I'm tired,
