- Well Jason, you are truly one of Radio Shacks finest! The last time I
- was looking for anything available for my Model 4, the salesperson
- confidently blurted out, "Sorry, that radio has been discontinued". I've
- been a TRS-80 owner for over 10 years now, and have seen hundreds of
- Radio Shack stores. I can tell you from experience, as so will countelss
- (err, countless) others, RS is NOT the place to go for answers. This is
- mainly because the sales people are desprately uneducated on the products
- they are selling. Perhaps if they had more salespersons like you, who
- even knew what a Model 1 was, RS would have a better reputation. As it
- stands now, the very best source of info, as well as the fastest, is via
- these networks. Like you, I've seen these questions over and over, and
- as a Sysop on GEnie in the Tandy RT area, they're just as plentiful
- there. So there's no doubt that they're not getting the answers they
- need from the local RS dealers. It's usually better to get the answers,
- and then go to RS and tell the salespeople what you need.
- If you have the influence, perhaps you can pass along this letter to
- Tandy in Fort Worth. They might learn something here. I expect matters
- to get even worse with the latest unveiling of their order by phone
- computer service.
