- I have a couple of questions relevant to the current shortage of SBE/S and
- FSBE/S (and I'd bet DFSBE/S) boards from Sun...
-
- 1) Does anyone know the REAL cause of the shortage? Is it a technical
- issue that might affect boards that are currently in the field?
-
- 2) Does anyone have a clue as to when these boards might start shipping
- again? Current Sun estimate is Q1'93.
-
- 3) Are there any CURRENTLY SHIPPING 3rd party boards that will perform
- these functions?
-
- 4) Does anyone know of a standard product that will allow me to take two 10
- Base-T cables, and put them together, to make a private, point-to-point,
- hub-free link? (i.e. a 10 Base-T null-modem-like cable) I know about Black
- Box, Gold Hill, and the other companies, and we are investigating. But if
- anyone has any specific information, that would be most helpful.
-
- Thank you,
