- Go to a room with a microwave oven, place the CD-ROM in the oven on an
- upside-down paper cup, turn out the lights, and cook the CD for about 10-15
- seconds. The resulting light show is quite spectacular. Make sure not to
- cook the CD too long, as the plastic will start to melt and then burn. After
- cooking, the metal foil inside the CD will have been fractured into a pretty,
- crinkly pattern. The CD will now make a nice Christmas tree ornament or
- wall hanging.
