- I just read about the SPARCcenter line of multiprocessor servers in
- the December issue of Sun Expert ("Meanwhile, Over at the Mainframe...",
- page 6). Two questions:
-
- 1.) Are they real? If so, are they shipping the two-processor
- "low end" model today? If not, when?
-
- 2) Are the SPECint92 numbers quoted in the article (4199 in
- four processor version, 7389 in the 8 processor version)
- for real? Is it safe to assume that the 2 processor version
- comes in at ~2400 SPECInt92? These numbers seem way too
- high (perhaps off by an order of magnitude?).
-
- I'm expecting a return call from the local sales guy, but haven't heard back
- yet (hence this message). I'm sorry if this has already been discussed
- here (if so, I missed the discussion). Also, I do not monitor this
- newsgroup; please respond directly via e-mail.
-
- Thanks in advance...
