- [Discussion on using PC cases for disk drives removed...]
-
- To add my $0.02 worth...
-
- For some time now, I've been using a PC tower case to hold the tape and
- disk drives for my 3/50. It has a 250W power supply, and the power
- supply is the only cooling device in the case. Mounted in the case are:
- (2) 150M HH ESDI drives
- (1) MD21 SCSI-ESDI adaptor
- (1) 150M FH MFM drive
- (1) ACB4000
- (1) Archive viper 2150S SCSI tape
- (1) 105M 3.5" SCSI drive.
-
- The case has 8 HH bays. I left a space between the two ESDI drives, and
- put a blank plate in to fill the holes. All the drives are running far
- cooler than when they were in shoeboxes. The whole thing tucks
- neatly under my desk, and connects to the 3/50 with a 2M SCSI-1 cable.
-
- You *can* use a PC case (I have brackets in mine for an extra fan, but
- haven't needed it...), just design intellegently.
