- This was discussed at length a while back...

- The general consensus was that there was a hardware block to prevent the
- transfer of the audio data in raw digital format in most CD-ROM drives.

- The exceptions to the rule were those drives made/sold by Silicon Graphics, Inc.
- who also ship all needed software to make use of this feature.
