- 4Meg SIMMs 16Meg SIMMS
- ON mother board 128Meg 512Meg
- with 1 EXPAN MEM BRD 384Meg *1536Meg
- with 2 EXPAN MEM BRD 640Meg *2560Meg
-
- Given the current pricing of 16Meg SIMMs heres the recomended 1Gig config:
- 32 16Meg SIMMs on mother board
- 2 memory expansion boards fully populated with 4Meg SIMMs
-
- *NOTE: Solaris 1.1 (SunOS 4.1.3) has only been tested, and offically only
- supports, 1Giga byte of main memory. If you have the bucks to fully
- populate a system to 2.5Gig more power to you. I would like to hear
- from anyone who has done this.
-
- For Solaris 2.1 I believe its a similar stiuation, though I think
- there might be a problem at 1Gig. The next release will definitely
- support 1Gig. The demand for configurations above 1Gig does not justify
- the expense of the testing process.
-
- From what I understand there are no architectural problems with the OS
- (both Solaris 1.1 and >2.1) supporting >1Gig; it just has'nt been debugged.
-
-
- Hope this is what you wanted.
