- I am relatively new to the system administration world, and I've got a
- question I hope someone can answer. We are currently running a
- Sun 4/280 server with three disks connected via an SMD controller.
- There are plans to upgrade the 4/280 to a Sparc 690MP in the near future.
- Sun isn't very interested in taking back our old disks, so we would, if
- possible, like to make use of them with the new server. Is it possible
- to take the SMD controller card from the 4/280 and plug it directly into
- the 690MP? If not, does anyone know of a card which would plug into the
- 690 and allow us to make use of the SMD drives?
