- Earlier I described a problem where the OpenWindows 3.0 calendar
- manager (cm) dumped core on me anytime it tried to pop up an
- appointment. I found out what was causing it but I still don't
- understand why it happens. Just how.
-
- Anyway, if my environment is very large (as it was, with hundreds of
- environment variables -- don't ask why) when cm is started, I get the
- core dumps. If I start cm _before_ defining the variables, everything
- seems to work and I haven't been able to make it break yet.
-
- My guess is that the large environment somehow makes cm clobber an
- internal variable or (more likely) pointer and it then wanders off
- into the weeds. But this is just that - a guess.
