  13. One of our Sun 3/60s developed a bad simm in the first 4mb of memory.
  14. I got it to come up by replacing the first four simms with the third
  15. bank of simms, and moving the internal jumper to show 8mb instead of
  16. 12mb of memory.

  18. But, when the machine came up, it did not auto-boot from the ethernet,
  19. and reported that ' ' was a bad boot device.  I can get it to boot by
  20. specifying `le()' at the prom prompt, but I cannot reset the bootdev
  21. with the eeprom command.  When I enter

  23.     #eeprom bootdev=le(0,0,0)
  24.  
  25. the eeprom command protests badly placed `()'; and if I enter
  26.  
  27.     #eeprom bootdev=le
  28.  
  29. the command protests a bad boot device.

  31. I do not have the hardware manuals for this machine.  Is there another
  32. way to reset the bootdev from its current setting of (0,0,0) so the
  33. machine will auto-boot off the ethernet?  Thanks.
