- One of our Sun 3/60s developed a bad simm in the first 4mb of memory.
- I got it to come up by replacing the first four simms with the third
- bank of simms, and moving the internal jumper to show 8mb instead of
- 12mb of memory.
-
- But, when the machine came up, it did not auto-boot from the ethernet,
- and reported that ' ' was a bad boot device. I can get it to boot by
- specifying `le()' at the prom prompt, but I cannot reset the bootdev
- with the eeprom command. When I enter
-
- #eeprom bootdev=le(0,0,0)
-
- the eeprom command protests badly placed `()'; and if I enter
-
- #eeprom bootdev=le
-
- the command protests a bad boot device.
-
- I do not have the hardware manuals for this machine. Is there another
- way to reset the bootdev from its current setting of (0,0,0) so the
- machine will auto-boot off the ethernet? Thanks.
