- I've just installed one of those data compression boards on an
- Exabyte 8200 8mm tape drive, which purports to make the 2.2GB
- drive into as much as a 5GB drive. Prior to the upgrade, I was
- using a tape size of 6000 feet, a block size of 100, and a density
- of 54000.
-
- First, is it necessary to change these parameters to take account
- of the data compression? Second, if so, what are suggested
- alternative parameters?
-
- Thanks.
