  12. I have a MAXTOR disk drive that was causing many READ errors at various block
  13. sector. I ran fsck and that didnot solve the problem.  So earlier, I decided to
  14. reformat the disk drive cuz I have a "good" backup.  Since I am keeping all 
  15. the information the same as before, I did not change the partition size at all.
  16. I went ahead reformat the disk drive.  I am assuming that reformatting has 
  17. solved my problem with with bad blocks.  I decided to newfs the disk drive.  
  18. newfs displayed alternate boot blocks and came back at certain block with
  19. I/O error.  What I am doing wrong ? What is the best way to reformat a 
  20. disk drive so that I can make a new file system ?
