- We are in the process of upgrading or Sunlink 6.0 versions to 7.0 (again).
- We have X.25, OSI and MHS (for X.400) installed. Our only mta partner
- is a PDP 11. We use the following entry in /etc/sunlink/osi/hosts for it:
-
- rz.uni-kiel { \
- [(cons-1980) 10001004, (x25pid) 65616e31] \
- [(tsel-s) ""] \
- [(ssel-s) ""] \
- } MHS_CONS
-
- which we found after three days of trying and tracing the first installation.
- The upgrade to 7.0 produced this entry in /etc/sunlink/osi/isoentities:
-
- rz.uni-kiel mta NULL \
- Int-X25=10001004+PID+65616e31
-
- However, this doesn't work. An excerpt from ~mail/etc/TRACE gives:
-
- X400 RTS Init : RTS initiator starts for queue 0Airts 00rz.uni-kiel
- X400 RTS Init : RTSLIB: TAsynConnRequest: Unspecified (undefined) CONS error
- X400 RTS Init : RTSLIB: SConnRequest(pseudo): Transport disconnect
- X400 RTS Init : RTSLIB: rtpktlose [Session disconnect]
- X400 RTS Init : ERROR: Unable to connect to remote address:
- X400 RTS Init : Int-X25=10001004+PID+65616e31
- X400 RTS Init : ERROR: Connection attempt has failed
-
- Has anyone succeeded in upgrading his SunLink version ?
- We have traced the x25 packets and can see some differences. Even though
- the call is accepted by the PDP11, the second packet to establish
- the connection is different from that sent by the old version
- (we have currently set up a test machine with 7.0).
- Does anyone know whether the above translation of the host entry
- from 6.0 to the isoentity in 7.0 is correct ?
- We have played around with the psel/tsel/ssel/nsap notation, but
- didn't succeed.
-
- Any help is greatly appreciated !

- PS: Or should we switch to ISODE/PP ? Is this easier to install and maintain
- than the SunLink products ?
