- each slot has a different scsi ID. top 3 , middle 2, bottom 1 (usually HD)
- so if you move a DAT from the middle to the TOP it changes SCSI id from
- 2 to 3. the /dev/tape device is set for the scsi id of 2.
- to use the DAT while moved to top slot, refer to thedevice in
- /dev/mt/tps0d3* devices.
- You can always over ride this by setting the SCSI id on the
- device by disconnecting the funny cable that sets the scsi ID
- like this. Ie, so its set to THAT scsi ID no matter were it is put.
