-
- Is anyone using the "quota" feature in 4.0+ Operating System? If so, could you
- explain how to set it up.
-
- Here is our situation.
-
- We have 200+ users (students) with the $HOME machine being a fileserver. We
- have a network of 25 machines that they can log onto, and when they do log on,
- their files are mounted for them onto the machine they sit at (not the file-
- server). On the fileserver their $HOME directory is either /usr/student/Userid
- or else /usr2/student/Userid ... When their files are mounted to the machine
- they log into, their $HOME account is alway /usr/student/Userid.
-
- Please note: also on the fileserver is teaching software and this too is
- mounted to the local station that the user logs in on. This software resides
- in fileserver:/usr/SOFTWARE and on the local machine is it /usr/SOFTWARE.
-
- I am not too sure about the "quotas". Where/what should be running? Should it
- be on the fileserver, or on the local machine that has files mounted to it?.
-
-
- I want to be able to limit the amount of diskspace that the users can have.
-
-
- Thanks,
