  13.  We just got some new Indigos. I must say we are impressed!
  14.  Very fasy machines. BUT, the documentation is pretty
  15.  poor.

  17.  We want to add a BOOTABLE 1G drive to one machine.
  18.  We have tried dvhtool AND a direct sash copy (from ROM) from the
  19.  OEM bootable disk (the small 236 ST1280 that comes with the
  20.  machine) but no luck. We tried:

  22.  dvhtool -v create /stand/sash sash
  23.                 
  24.                    That wanted to know
  25.                 starting end ending blocks
  26.                 which of course we couldn't
  27.                 tell it. How does one know
  28.                 where to start and end.

  30. We just want to make a bootable disk! For those
  31. familiar with DEC/Ultrix, we want to do the equivalent
  32. of /etc/newfs (which installs bootblocks) or for SUN
  33. folks out there the equivalent of installboot. How
  34. do you tell IRIX to install the needed things into the volume
  35. header of a new disk to make THAT disk bootable. It
  36. can't be too hard.

  38. We WERE able to read the vol header though, the the disk
  39. was made correctly at least and it is mountable, but
  40. not bootable...:-(

  42. If it's in TFM, just point us, we'll be glad to use them, but
  43. we already spent four days hacking and the manuals don't have
  44. this info!
