  11. I am having trouble doing a 'rdist' distribution from
  12. an Ultrix DECstation to an IRIX SGI machine.

  14. The error message I get is:

  16.    rdist: connection failed: version numbers don't match
  17.  
  18. which the man page suggests may be due to a problem starting
  19. the shell.  rlogin. rcp, rsh, etc, all work fine in the
  20. same direction.  rdist in the other direction (SGI to Ultrix)
  21. works fine. I can't find anything wrong with the various
  22. .login, .cshrc, etc files - the problem occurs even when these
  23. are removed.

  29.        ULTRIX V4.2A (Rev. 47) System #1:
  30.        UWS V4.2A (Rev. 420)
