- Hello,
-
- Occasionally on booting my system (an entry R3K Indigo) I get SCSI
- error messages echoed to the screen and also to the SYSLOG, such as:
-
- Dec 11 19:04:27 igor unix: sc0,1,0: cmd=0x12 timeout after 1 sec. Resetting SCSI bus
- Dec 11 19:04:27 igor unix: sc0,2,0: cmd=0x12 timeout after 1 sec. Resetting SCSI bus
- Dec 11 19:04:27 igor unix: sc0,3,0: cmd=0x12 Unexpected info phase 20, state 4B. Resetting SCSI bus
- Dec 11 19:04:27 igor unix: sc0,3,0: cmd=0x12 Unexpected info phase 20, state 4B. Resetting SCSI bus
- Dec 11 19:04:27 igor unix: sc0,5,0: cmd=0x12 timeout after 1 sec. Resetting SCSI bus
- Dec 11 19:04:27 igor unix: sc0,6,0: cmd=0x12 timeout after 1 sec. Resetting SCSI bus
-
- hinv then shows all devices connected to the SCSI bus except the
- floppy drive, which is at ID=3. So far, the problem has always
- corrected itself upon reboot, and it does not happen often. Is there
- enough info here to determine whether the fault lies with the floppy
- drive itself or something else?
-
- Thanks in advance.
