- Some time ago I asked for experience values in using Inventor.
-
- I got some responds and as I stated to make this information
- available on the net, here is a short summary of what I got.
-
- It seems that Inventor is not in wide use yet. Most replies told
- me about starting experience or a small number of projects done
- with Inventor.
- The overall impression seems to be good. I was told about the
- possibilities Inventor offers me, although this knowledge seems
- to come more from the manuals than from personal experience.
- I was told there is another SGI product for applications like
- we have to do: Performer.
- This product is aimed at high end graphic applications (VR etc.).
- One negative point I learned about is that Inventor holds its own
- graphical scene database. This results in the fact that the
- whole design of a graphical application has to be done with
- Inventor in mind, a later add-on is problematic (if this can
- be seen as a negative point).
-
- All in all I got 4 responds. What I would be interested in
- (as I am a new user of the net): is this the normal number
- of responds to this kind of questions?
-
- Thanks to all who sent me a reply. I appreciate your help.
