- I have had a different problem with the top slot of our new R4K's. In this
- slot we place an SGI floppy. The floppy seems to have trouble seating or
- comes loose sometimes. The result is a PANIC during the power-on
- diagnostics. The drive *seems* to be seated properly, but if I reseat it,
- the system still panics.
- To fix the problem, after I reseat the floppy drive, and ensure that the
- lever is all the way in place, I firmly push the floppy (sometimes with
- a slight wiggle).
- This fixes the problem. I was surprised to have this happen on about 1 in
- 5 systems shipped to us.
-
- Is it just ME!!!!!!!!
