- We'd like to report a slightly similar case. We have an NCR 3445
- with 640M Maxtor labeled as SYS/DSK1, and a Seagate 14600 1.2G disk
- as DSK2. Twice now, during periods a heavy file copy activity (DSK2
- holds all the user accounts), the server has crashed; when it comes
- back up, all DSK2 partition info is lost and we've had to rebuild
- from backups. We've swapped out the drive this time to make sure it
- isn't a problem on the disk itself.
-
- To maybe answer your question, our VAR has told us that if VREPAIR
- can't see the volume, there's no way to bring the partition table back.
- That's why we've had to redo the partition and restore from backups
- the two times.
