- Subject: Can a PRINT_SERVER object open network files?
-
-
- Is it not possible for a PRINT_SERVER object to read and write to network
- volumes? I know they must read and write some files to serve print
- queues which are probably written in the system directory or in the mail
- directory.
-
- I have a program that logs into the network as a printserver and then
- needs to read and write to files on network volumes. I try to do an
- "open" or a "fopen" in C to a certain file "volume:dir\subdir\file.dat"
- but I am not able. I tried to map a search drive using the API MapDrive
- and then use that, but failed. (ie Z as volume:dir\subdir then opening
- the file as file.dat)
-
- Also, has anyone had experience spawning to another program on the
- network while logged as a PRINT_SERVER. And how does one check if a
- certain file exists on the network?
-
- Any ideas are appreciated.
-
- Thanks
