- I will let someone else answer the question as stated. But, I would
- like to point out that Novell has placed the info from their ftp
- server into gopher. If you have a gopher client, point it at
- gopher.novell.com. There are advantages to everyone in using
- gopher over ftp. First, it is stateless and this results in better
- response with a given load (resulting in more folks being able to
- access the information at a given time). Another advantage is the
- ability to do full text index searches using gopher/WAIS. The
- Novell gopher takes advantage of this, so you can choose the search
- option, give it a keyword, and it will return a list of items that
- you can then select from. I find the gopher access much easier
- than ftp access, and it is a win-win given the lower hit each
- user places on the server.
