  12. I have one user that can't get preferences to stick.  He sets them
  13. then if he quits Preferences and starts it back, the preference is  
  14. gone!  In addition, if he selects Unix Expert and hides the app,  
  15. nevertheless, he doesn't get the dot files to show.

  17. Any ideas on what to look for?
