- I just installed a new Fujitsu 425 meg internal drive in a station that had
- been booting off an external Maxtor and I have a few problems. :-(
-
- I set up the drive for SCSI ID 1, and physically installed it. The system
- recognized it fine when I booted off my external drive (SCSI ID 0). BuildDisk
- proceeded without a hitch (this is 3.0 I'm talking about) and after a reboot,
- the new drive showed up in the workspace.
-
- I disconnected the external drive, but cannot get the system to boot from the
- internal. Messages displayed at bootup are:
-
- Starting Extended Self Test...
- Extended SCSI Test
- System Test passed
- Boot command: sd
- boot sd(0,0,0)
-
- SCSI unexpected msg:1
- sc: Unexpected msg
-
- The last two lines are repeated forever. Anyone have a clue?
-
- (I repeated the BuildDisk, to no avail, and tried initializing the disk with
- "disk -i /dev/rsd1a", also to no avail.)
