- I'd like to add an environment variable to *any* process. I thought of putting it
- in /etc/rc.local at startup, but the problem is that it has to depend on the user
- using it, so something like ~/Dir or $(HOME)/Dir.

- ~/.cshrc is not always read, neither is the defaults database, I think. Or am I
- mistaken?
