- I've been doing a bunch of work lately with plots in EPS format, and
- I noticed something different in my system since upgrading to 3.0.
- It used to be that the AdobeIllustrator registered the .eps file ending
- (and didn't Image Viewer as well?) so that you could make it the default
- application for .eps files. Now it doesn't seem to since AI is not
- in the list of possibility in teh Tools Inspector for .eps files. Anyone
- know how to restore this? or did they change AI when they made the minor
- upgrade last year? (I installed the AI upgrade at the same time I upgraded
- to 3.0, so I don't know exactly what caused the difference). Note I did
- go and change the name of the application and its folder so that .ai files
- register properly.

- While we're on the subject: does anyone have a suggestion for a good basic
- .eps file previewer/printer application? Preview is way too finicky for
- my taste. I often make EPS files by hitting the Save button in the print
- panel, then using BBFig to get the Bounding Box right. Preview has a major
- fit wiht these files, but they image perfectly on drag and drop into
- Create, Diagram, etc. Under 2.1 I could use Scene, which was perfect for
- the task, and also had the nice "position in center" and "scale to fit"
- options in the print panel. Is there anything else like that around? Or
- has anyone fixed Scene (as someone was kind enough to do for Icon) so it
- works under 3.0?
