-
- Well, you *can* put a /NextCD directory on your disk, *provided you change
- /etc/rc.boot as well*. This obviously won't work if you boot off the CD, but
- if you boot off the CD this doesn't apply anyway.
-
- It's only a bad idea to change the /etc/rc* files other than rc.local if you
- don't know what it is you're doing and the full ramifications thereof.
-
- Since the existance of /NextCD is checked only once near the beginning of
- /etc/rc.boot, changing that directory on your hard drive won't hurt (heck,
- even taking out the check on your hard drive won't hurt as it's definitely
- not going to be booting from CD ROM).
-
- Of course, one should realize they're fiddling with a standard. There should
- be a better way to determine if you're booting from a CD ROM or not than
- looking for a directory; something like a disk -s /dev/rsd0a | grep removable
- check or something.
