  12. I just received my 3.0 upgrade.  It was booting fine off the external hard
  13. drive, but I took it back in because the place that did it for me didn't 
  14. include NeXTCD and everything in it.  After he put that on, I took it home 
  15. and tried to boot up and now it seems to hang at the point "Checking System 
  16. Files".  It just sits there and I can't see any exchange (flashing light) 
  17. with the external drive. I thought maybe it was just going to take a while 
  18. but it stayed that way for over 10 minutes.

  20. Does anyone know what happened?  Did something get overwritten on the hard
  21. drive?  It still has 35MB left free, so I sort of doubt it.  Did the guy at
  22. the store have to do something bizzare to get access to my drive?  The SCSI
  23. address is set to 0 now so that's not the problem .......  I would go talk
  24. to the store about it, but this is the 5th time I've been back there this
  25. week to try to get this miserable computer working.

  27. BTW, I have had the worst service imaginable in my purchase of a NeXT
  28. Turbo Station.  It's almost to the point now that I wish I had gone with
  29. a less powerful Mac or PC because all of the hassle I've had to go through
  30. to get the most basic things set up ..... has anyone else out there 
  31. experienced this sort of thing?
