  10. I'm wondering a little about how the expert set fonts work,
  11. particularly with respect to ligatures.
  12.  
  13. Suppose you have a font that does not have ligatures, e.g.
  14. vanilla Adobe Garamond.  Exactly what happens when I install
  15. the "Expert Set" which *does* contain ligatures?  Is the
  16. expert set a separate font as far as the NeXT is concerned,
  17. or will the Adobe Garamond character set become "extended" with
  18. the glyphs defined in the Expert Set font file?
  19.  
  20. Also, do all/most/some of the NeXT text processing support
  21. ligatures?  Will, for example, WriteNow, WP and FrameMaker
  22. print the /ffl glyph if it exists in the chosen character set,
  23. or will they cop out and print the glyphs f, f, and l?
