- In my opinion, Digital Librarian is a superior substitute.

- You can edit any file on your computer. I add notes to the online docs all the
- time. I usually do it in bold, with the text flush left so that it is
- immediately obvious that it's an added note.
-
- However, the printed docs are currently more up-to-date and more complete than
- the online docs. I received some email from a NeXT employee on this subject,
- an edited copy of which I have included below. I have no idea why this person
- didn't post this info to the net, but I'm going to respect the person's
- anonymity by editing relevant parts of the message (I hope this person doesn't
- mind the fact that I am posting this, though I don't know why he/she should
- mind).
-
- Included (edited) message follows:

- probably care about, the General Reference, has changed quite a bit in some
- places from the on-line version. I'm not sure exactly what changed, but from
- what I remember, some of the 3D Kit doc has changed, NetInfo Kit doc has
- changed, and the doc for new appkit API, as well as for controls & cells, has
- changed to some extent. The doc for Indexing Kit and DB Kit has changed a lot.
- I'm sure more has changed, but it's hard to know the extent of the changes,
- since 6+ writers worked on that book.

- the story is on the "Development Tools and Techniques" book.

- human-generated index, suggested reading, glossary, introduction, and those

- works better in print than online because it contains so many figures.
